Upper Fort Garry Provincial Park is the actual site where in 1870 the Assembly of Assiniboia made the decision to form the Province of Manitoba and enter the confederacy of Canada! Come discover the many stories, the many voices that speak of centuries of history of this area. This site is importance to Manitoba and Canada history (part of the grade 5 and 11 curriculum). Explore the 400-foot Heritage Wall with its river of history carved into corten steel and experience the sound and light show. NEW – NEW Photo Contest; Drawing Contest – Drawing suitable for a colouring book; Manitoba 150 Scavenger Hunt. All ages eligible. (Details on site).
