The Centre du patrimoine is an archival and research center dedicated to the preservation, study, promotion and presentation of the Francophone and Métis history of Manitoba and Western Canada. The building’s construction is based on concepts in archival building architecture. The Heritage Wall that adorns the main entrance to the Centre du patrimoine includes elements of the façade of the former Cauchon Block, later known as the Empire Hotel, a building that graced Winnipeg’s downtown core beginning in 1881-1882.

Guided tours of the building will run every 60 minutes starting at 11:00am, with the last tour beginning at 4:00pm. Tours will be approximately 35 minutes in length. Two tours will run concurrently with a maximum of 10 guests per tour. No registration required!
