2013 – Best Restoration

The Great-West Life Company purchased a piece of land on Rorie and Lombard for construction of a new head office. The building opened in 1911 at a cost of approx. $400,000. The architect was J.D. Atchison and was originally 4 storeys high. An additional 4-storeys were constructed in 1922. This building was designated provincially in 1985. In February HW was very pleased to present our Preservation Award for the exceptional conservation of the second floor space, and preservation of the Board Room.
