Saturday: 11:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday: 11:00am - 5:00pm
Black History Experience Manitoba invites you to celebrate the many contributions of the Black Community to the History of Manitoba and across Canada. Hear the distinctive sounds of Talking Drums. Learn about the Underground Railroad through a Quilt Display and join in a “Call and Response” song used by enslaved people to covertly communicate their plans to seek freedom and safety by going north. See a dance tradition that became popular in the 1930s, and listen-in to a performance that brings together African roots music from Drums to Hip-Hop and more!
Black History Experience Manitoba is an organization that is working to commemorate and bring this history to life. Please join us to learn and share.
On both days, performances will take place at 11:30am and 2:15pm. Performances will be approximately 40 minutes in length with a maximum of 50 guests. No registration required!
