The Historic Kildonan Church & Cemetery (1854) is the oldest Presbyterian worship place and cemetery in western Canada. This unique historic site at ‘Frog Plain’ is tucked away, not far from the Red River in Old Kildonan and is located at 2373 Main St, just north of the Chief Pequis Trail. The original settlers arrived in 1812 and waited forty years for the arrival of a minister of their own Presbyterian faith. The congregation was established in 1851 with the arrival of Reverend Dr. John Black, and celebrates its 175th anniversary in September 2026.
Presentation in Nisbet Hall will start at 1:00pm, followed by a guided tour of the cemetery. The event will be approximately 120 minutes in length (60 minutes indoors, 60 minutes outdoors) with a maximum of 75 guests. No registration required!
Outdoor events will be cancelled in the case of heavy rain or thunderstorms. Indoor events will proceed regardless of the weather. Weather related cancellations will NOT be posted.
