St. John’s is the oldest Anglican parish west of the Great Lakes and inextricably bound to the history of Winnipeg and Manitoba. The present Cathedral was built in 1926. Designed by Parfitt and Prain of Winnipeg, it incorporates elements of various mediaeval English design, with a Norman tower and barrel-vaulted ceiling, and Gothic arched doors and windows. Two of the stonemasons, both in their eighties, who worked on the present Cathedral had also worked on the 1862 building. A second storey on the north west corner was added in 1959.

Guided tours of the Cathedral and Cemetery will start at 10:30am, 12:00pm and 1:30pm on Saturday, and 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm on Sunday. Tours will be approximately 50 minutes in length with a maximum 20 guests. Guests are also welcome to use a booklet to take a self-guided tour at any time during the event. No registration required!

Outdoor events will be cancelled in the case of heavy rain or thunderstorms. Indoor events will proceed regardless of the weather. Weather related cancellations will NOT be posted.
